Positive Parenting Program!

Why am I providing all this information on parenting skill??

Nancy Sander - Author

Because, quite frankly, I just want to help. I know how hard it is to make ends meet, stretching your time for your children, for work, for responsibilities,
and… for yourself.

Oh Boy, have I been there!

This year, I had a friend in my living room totally stressed about the behavior of her stubborn child. She and I came up with a solution to her problem within minutes. It worked so well that I just wanted to get the word out to you.

I wanted to share what worked for me and my friend. Actually, I believe in helping others avoid the difficulties that I experienced. I’ve found that all too many people keep their secrets.

So if you’re just worn out with children, typical parents stress, and the changes in today’s world, if you’re worried about the economy and how it will affect your family discipline, and you would love to spend quality peaceful moments with your kids and save time and worry…

Keep Reading… Because You’re About To Find A Solution!

I sure wish I had put this Positive Parenting Program together a year ago. I’m sure that you would have saved a lot of time, stress, maybe even sleepless nights over discipline ideas for your children’s behaviors.

But before I reveal this amazing solution, I want to share my personal story that started some years back…

Overnight, I Became a Single Mom with 2 Kids

Family Fun in the Backyard

Too bad there wasn’t a “parenting class for divorce” back then. I had been a stay-at-home mom for 6 years, and instantly I was on my own and forced with the daunting task of raising my 2 children alone. It took 3 months for the seriousness of this situation to hit me. “I’m the bread winner now. How am I supposed to provide for these kids?”

“How am I going to be a good parent?”

In order to earn an income, I went to work. My mother took in my son, the youngest, because he was not old enough for kindergarten. My daughter was in first grade. I found myself without any real work experience and no successful parenting experience either.

Times change, families change.

I had worked before marriage as a teller in a bank, that income would not be enough. I went to work in several offices as a clerk. Ultimately, my kids became ‘latch-key’ kids, when they were older, with my Mom two doors down. (With today’s experience and knowledge I would have tried harder to find other alternatives. One time friends of my ‘kids’ almost burnt the house down!)

My primary goal as a stay at home wife and mother changed drastically, massively.

Most Families Are Changing.

Families are responding to changes in the economy and current culture.

The Old Style of the American Family with…

  • Mom at home,
  • Dad making the money outside the home, and
  • Two or three children

The perfect situation rarely, if ever, exists today.

Now a real ‘honest-to-goodness’ American Family may consist of…

  • Two breadwinners, a Mom and Pop who both work,
  • A single parent who stays at home,
  • A single parent who goes out to work,
  • Step-moms and step-dads,
  • Children from two or three different families trying to blend into one unit, or more likely, resisting blending,or even,
  • Foster kids, adopted kids, and kids shared by two sets of parents, and families.

This family diversity requires cooperation between family members and the community. A good definition for today’s family might be two or more people living together over time, cooperating to help each other live and grow in today’s society.

“How can I cope ‘and’ be a good parent?”

Good question!

Maybe it’s going to take some Common sense Parenting! Even back then, I knew that there must be a better way. I found an option that ultimately helped; I went back to school. That is where I put together my first knowledge and learning about parenting.

“In the number of years that I’ve known her Nancy Sander’s vocations have always been centered on helping the public in one specific area or another. When I first met her she was a substance abuse counselor and I was in awe of how much patient compassion such a position would require. She then became a counselor supervisor at a center for troubled boys who’d been recommended by our court system. She often told me specific stories of how she’d helped various boys there make a better adjustment to interacting with society. She occasionally volunteered her personal time (and money) to sign one or two of them out for brief outings to do some shopping or take them to a movie or such. In all my days (and I’m no longer a young man) she’s the only person I’ve ever personally known to actually go so far out of her way to help someone.”

“Active Video Games May Be A Good Supplement To Outdoor Play For Kids”

I haven’t posted in a very long time. Circumstances beyond my control… Anyway…

I ran across an article in Medical Daily that summarizes a study from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Since I believe that, the long term physical health ramifications of hours of sedentary video game playing by young children may well leave all of us sorry in years to come, I thought I would pass this on to you.

Keep reading to discover an excerpt from the article by Anthony Rivas (http://www.medicaldaily.com/reporters/anthony-rivas).

Active Video Games for Kids

“Active Video Games May Be A Good Supplement To Outdoor Play For Kids”

“For a long time now, scientists have warned parents about letting their kids play video games during their free time…”

“…a new study suggests all that movement may be just as effective as playing outdoors.”

“The study comes from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where researchers were interested in comparing the effects of playing motion-based video games to so-called “unstructured outdoor play” — playing in a playground, for example — among children aged 5 to 8.”

“The researchers hooked up 16 normal-weight children to accelerometers on their hips and both wrists,…”

“Outdoor play took place in a fully-equipped playground…” “kids could engage in whichever activities they wanted.”

“When they went inside to play video games, they were given an Xbox 360 Kinect with the game “Kinect Adventures: River Rush.” The game requires jumping and side-stepping to maneuver an inflatable raft through river courses.”

“The researchers measured levels of physical activity with the Children’s Activity Rating Scale,” (Link to Children’s Activity Rating Scale = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2091164)

“According to national physical activity guidelines, children and adolescents should be getting 60 minutes or more of physical activity each day, in addition to muscle strengthening activities at least three days a week.” (National Physical Activity Guidlelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention= http://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/basics/children/index.htm)

Active Video Games for Kids could be a positive way to circumvent any health issues in the future of our children.

Parents always benefit from information from which to make decision regarding our children. Children are indeed the children of everyone.
